Class 1: Healing Anxiety
Facilitated in a circle setting, this class will cover the basics of anxiety by defining what anxiety is, how it affects the body system and ways that you can work through anxious moments and situations. Please bring a journal or pad of paper as we will be deepening our awareness by answering specific questions related to this topic.
Class 2- Addressing the Child Within
This course will consist of two parts. The first hour will be spent in circle discussing the inner child and how we can learn to work with ourselves in a gentle and compassionate approach. Feel free to bring something to write, draw, doodle on/with as we cover various ways the inner child can assist us and ways that it can sabotage us.
The second part of this class will consist of a 90-minute restorative yoga practice. Restorative yoga, also known as sleeping yoga consists of the use of props; such as bolsters, straps, blocks and blankets. This practice involves placing you in a position that is as comfortable as possible for anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes with the intention to bring the body into a state of bliss. It restores the body in a more restful manner in that your weight is completely supported.
Class 3: Healing the Inner Masculine
Masculine energy is defined as the act of doing. We all carry masculine and feminine energy within. The first portion of this two-part course will be facilitated in circle as we discuss imbalanced masculine energy and ways that we can assist our inner masculine to find balance and healing.
The second portion of this course will include a 1-hour yin yoga class to counterbalance the masculine energy. Yin yoga does not include any props and poses are generally held for 3 to 5 minutes by using the weight of gravity for a deep stretch in the tendons and fascia within the joints. More than that, it is also suggested that yin helps with energy blockages in the meridians that run to the organs within the body, which allows for a more free flow of energy and further healing to the body system. Yin yoga is considered the feminine practice of receptivity and openness.
Class 4: Healing the Inner Feminine
Feminine energy is defined as the act of being. We all carry the masculine and feminine energy within. The first portion of this two part course will be facilitated in circle as we discuss imbalanced feminine energy and ways that we can assist our inner feminine to find balance and healing.
The second portion of this course will include a 1-hour vinyasa yoga class to counterbalance the feminine energy. Vinyasa yoga is a more masculine energy practice as it combines movement and breath in a flow format. This class will assist in building strength and increasing heart-rate bringing in the energy of doing and how best we can channel this aspect of our energy body.
Class 5: Inner Union
Let’s explore our natal charts (birth charts) as we learn more about our own unique needs within relationships as well as our masculine and feminine energy and how we can best support ourselves on the path to love. When we know what we need and how we can best meet our own needs, then we start showing up for ourselves in ways that enhance our growth and deepens our relationship to ourselves.
This class will be followed up with a 60 minute yinyasa class, which includes vinyasa yoga with yin poses interweaved throughout. Yinyasa is a blend of vinyasa or movement based yoga (masculine energy) combined with yin poses woven within for a deep stretch and opening of joints and tissues (feminine energy). This magical practice seamlessly combines both energies leaving you feeling strong, open and balanced.
